BPC RiskManager V6.2.5.13 (Beta 3)
Saturday, October 24th, 2009New beta has been uploaded to the distribution site. This beta dramatically speeds up the display of the heatmap when a heavily restricted user is connected, improves the display behaviour of the maintain risks screen on systems set at 1024*768 (very low res), fixes the currently known access rights display issues on the maintain risks screen that resulted in user rights escalation from low to risk coordinator to not display the new button under certain mechanisms of launching the screen, and surfaces the audit notes tab (viewable only by users with audit rights).
The previous versions used an in process filter to decide what should should not be seen when a user displayed the heat map. This was fine under the old access model, but with the new highly granular model the filter was simply too slow, so we have re-written it as a very complex SQL query which gives virtually instant correctly filtered risk lists for the user when scanning the whole database – even for very larger risk databases. This is a recommended download for all users.
The risk maintenance screen is due for a redesign as we are simply out of screen real-estate and there is a lot more to surface yet. Also the old design has always been problematical to manage under differing screen resolutions. So the new version will be replaced again shortly as we try out some new screen management and layout concepts.
Look out for Beta 4 on Monday.
We have also been adding some new guides on the riskwiki for moving your systems from Dev/test to production.
Regards
JB
